Poppy Appeal at Villa Park

Cadets and staff from 489 (Acocks Green & Olton) Sqn descended on Aston Villa Football Club's ground, Villa Park , along with British Legion Members to collect funds for this year's British Legion Poppy Appeal.

They were all given an access pass to Villa Park , being allowed into corporate/sponsor lounges and boxes as well as brushing shoulders with football players of yesterday. Aston Villa also offered complimentary tickets for the game which were taken up by the volunteers and the British Legion members.

Officer Commanding 489 (Acocks Green & Olton) Sqn, Fg Off Jo Coles, said: "I'm extremely pleased to that we have had the opportunity to make a difference to the British Legion Poppy Appeal and we will continue to raise funds when ever and where ever we can ."  

Service Helper, Cpl Simon Watson RAF, the event organiser, would like to say thank you to Aston Villa management team, Jo Tresize, Birmingham Area British Legion Representative and the British Legion members who helped make the day a complete success
