Cadets from 489 Squadron (Acocks Green & Olton) spent the weekend remembering those who have sacrificed so much in the name of freedom.

Saturday the Cadets visited the National Arboretum where they had an opportunity to look around all the different memorials dedicated to service personnel, as well as, paying tribute to them by holding a 2 minute silence and laying a wreath.

And this Sunday Air Cadets from 489 Squadron, members of the Royal British Legion and the Scout Association converged into the church of St Margret 's in Olton to remember those who have fallen in conflicts around the world. Air Cadet Stuart Salter had the great honour of playing the Last Post.

Friends of 489 Sqn Air Cadets, Squadron Leader Iles and Lieutenant Middleton was also attending the ceremony. Squadron Leader Stuart Iles said ‘It's great to so many young adults, friends and family attend the service, ensuring that we all remember'.
