Solihull Air Cadets Still Top Gun

For the second consecutive year 492 ( Solihull ) Squadron Air Training Corps have returned home from Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing's annual competition day with a host of trophies, including Best Overall Squadron.

Over 40 of the unit's 77 cadets and staff attended the event at Bramcote Barracks near Nuneaton for the culmination of a year of competitive activities. Other trophies retained from 2007 include Best Drill Sqn, Best Overall Sports Sqn and Best Sports Cadet. New successes this year include Best Drill NCO, Best Academic Sqn and 1 st place in Senior Modelling.

Officer Commanding, Flt Lt Elliot Hemes said "I'm immensely proud of the team and their fantastic achievements against some exceptional squadrons, particularly 8F (City of Coventry ) Squadron. We have our work cut out for us to attain the hat trick next year but we enjoy a challenge".
