| After many months of training in all weathers under the command of Squadron Warrant Officer Hale, 493 (Kings Heath & Moseley) Squadron's efforts were rewarded when they lifted the Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing Inter Squadron drill Trophy, at this years Wing Training day at Bramcote Barracks.
The squadron was lead by drill IC Sgt Cherqui, who not only lead his squadron to 1st place in the drill competition, also came runner up in the best drill IC by a mere one point.
Not only did 493 Squadron win the drill, their efforts in other aspects coming 2nd in first aid, 3rd in aircraft recognition and 4th in the shooting, Coming 4th overall.
The Squadron Commanding Officer Flt Lt Atkinson said "This was a remarkable achievement considering the short time that some of the cadets had been with the squadron. She also added that she was a very proud CO and always knew that 493 Squadron where the best. All the cadets are looking forward to continue their training and representing the Wing at Regional Training Day at RAF Brampton on the 13th September" We wish them the best of luck."
