Cadets from 495 (Sutton Coldfield) Squadron recently attended the Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing Cross Country championships at Tudor Grange park, Solihull .

Wet weather and muddy conditions underfoot on the day did nothing to deter the squadrons runners, with the Junior boys team taking 3rd place overall and the Intermediate boys team finishing a credible 5th place overall.

However the best was saved till last with the squadron's Senior girls team finishing in 1st place overall and bringing back one of the major trophies on offer. Well done to Cadet's Dowd, Byrne and Lawrence who made up the Senior girls team.

Flt Lt Nick Upton, Officer Commanding 495 Sqn said "Although we did not win any individual cadet medals, it was a fantastic squadron team effort, well done to all the squadrons runners for doing so well in trying conditions ".
