Watch Out Watch Out, There’s a Corporal About

Corporals Jack Curtis and Tom ButterworthWell two to be exact! Two of 497 (Daventry)'s cadets received a very welcome surprise on parade on 10th February, when they were called up by Flt Lt Broom to receive corporal tapes.

Jack Curtis and Tom Butterworth both successfully completed the Wing JNCO course at the end of 2010, and are very hard working and committed cadets, so everyone was pleased to watch the very well deserved promotions. Flt Lt Broom said “It is always gratifying to watch cadets progress to the point where they have earned promotion and I look forward to seeing what they achieve in the future”.

Corporal Tom Butterworth is a very strong member of the Squadron band playing trumpet and bugle, and has just started a BTEC in Music. He participated in the Wing solo bugler competition last year, achieving second in his first year. Corporal Jack Curtis is more of an outdoor cadet, enjoying expeditions and camping, climbing, skiing and radio. He has almost completed his Communications Badge and is close to earning his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.
