Cadets and staff at 497 (Daventry) have been working hard on improving the quantity of shooters on squadron. This year has seen 6 new no8 wht passes and 4 requalifications, and 3 new L98 wht passes and 1 requalification, as well as 1 coaching qualification and safety supervisor qualification.
These qualifications mean that these cadets can now enjoy shooting opportunities throughout the year, the first opportunity coming this weekend.
In addition a team from the squadron is about to start practice towards the wing shooting competition, the first time the Squadron has ever entered. The team is quite excited but a little nervous.
Cdt Sgt Ellen Seymour, who as well as enjoying shooting with cadets is fortunate enough to have the opportunity to shoot outside cadets said “It’s good to see the cadets trying and enjoying something new, with some of them showing real potential.” Daventry Squadron would also like to thank Sgt Andy Hudson of 487 (Kingstanding and Perry Barr) for his assistance with the wht’s and the competition team entry. |
