| Jamaine Donkor awarded Best Sports Cadet of Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing 2006.
FS Jamaine Donkor of 84 (Coventry Airport) Sqn has been awarded the best sports cadet award of Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing 2006. Jamaine has been working very hard at the local athletics track which is now starting to pay off.
e has represented the wing at Cross Country, Football, Athletics, Swimming, Rugby and Football and it has led to him to representing the regional in the same events.
Officer in Charge Flt Lt Spencer Davies said “Jamaine has a tough reputation to follow. After representing the Wing, Region and Corps in various sporting events and as well as being awarded Best Sports Male Cadet of the Air Training Corps 2005 he will have to concentrate on his training to retain his crown.”
Jamaine also has even more competition now as his younger brother has joined the Air Cadets and has already represented the Wing and Region at various sporting events. Let the competition begin!
Its not all play and no work!
84 (Coventry Airport) Squadron have picked up the award for the best all round squadron in regards to examination result for Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing. For the past year cadets on the squadron have been undertaking training in aviation subjects including Navigation, Principles of Flights and Propulsion.
All this training has contributed with other activities associated with the Air Training Corps including Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and the BTEC award.
Officer in Charge Flt Lt Spencer Davies said “Our aviation based subject training is a very important part of training programme. Not only does it provide important information on aspects of the Air Training Corps and the Royal Air Force but it also can contribute to national recognised qualifications.”
