The cadets and staff at 8F squadron remembered a former cadet and friend, Rory Marks, with a balloon race from the squadron on 26 th June.

Rory Marks passed away on 26 th June 2006 after bravely battling illness. Aged just 15, Rory has really left his mark on 8F squadron with his personality and spirit, making so many personal achievements in his 18 months with the squadron.

Rory was an inspiration to everyone, living his life to the full and always smiling. He was a very warm person, liked by everyone and we have really missed him at the squadron.

The squadron parade on 26 th June was an informal one as the cadets were given a well earned break after their efforts towards Wing Field Day. The evening was full of fun, games and laughter, a perfect and fitting tribute to Rory Marks.
