BTEC grades from merit to distinction* for Coventry Air Cadets

BTEC grades from merit to distinction* for Coventry Air CadetsCadets at 8F Squadron are currently celebrating their B-Tec success having recently been presented with their B-Tec in Public Services and Aviation Studies results.

With grades from merit to distinction* the cadets should be justifiably proud of their achievements together with the work and commitment put in to achieve them.

The 3 cadets gaining the distinction* grade, the highest result achievable for the Public Services B-Tec, also have the honour of being the first cadets in Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing to be awarded this.

The 3 cadets are Flight Sergeant's Nathan Ellis, Will Wilkes and Craig Perkins who have between them worked to achieve Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards, the St Johns Young Lifesaver Plus Awards, a Community Sport Leaders Award, Parachuting Course, International Air Cadet Exchange to Canada , Gliding Scholarships and cadet Leadership courses. These achievements combined with a high standard of academic work within the Air Training Corps, has set them above the rest.

Flight Lieutenant Amanda Sinfield RAF VR(T) - Commanding Officer said 'As always I am proud of our cadets and their achievements. All of the awards and in particular the Distinction*'s are a result of the effort, commitment and motivation that these cadets have demonstrated throughout their time with 8F Squadron.

It is great that these qualifications are available to our cadets, providing them with the opportunity to add to their school qualifications and show potential future employers that they are committed and self-motivated young people'.

The cadets were presented with their awards by Officer Commanding Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing, Wing Commander Ladwa and the Wing B-Tec officer Flight Lieutenant Foster who recognised the hard work of the cadets and the calibre of their achievements.
