Cadets at 8F (1 st City of Coventry ) Squadron, Air Training Corps, based in Wyken, are answering the call for poppy sellers in the city.
Over 30 youngsters and volunteer staff are poised to assist our affiliated No. 1 Coventry Branch Royal British Legion to raise the vital funds required to support veterans of all our armed forces.
The cadets will be at Tesco's Walsgrave and Arena branches, B&Q at Binley and ASDA at Whitley during Saturday's 3 rd and 10 th November.
The cadets recognise the importance of supporting such a cause and in addition will be taking part in the annual Remembrance Parade in the city joining fellow cadets from the other four Squadrons in the city and respective armed service cadet forces.
Flying Officer Amanda Sinfield, Officer in Charge of the squadron said 'I am really encouraged by the number of our cadets who have volunteered to give up their valuable Saturdays to sell poppies. They understand the importance of the work of the Royal British Legion and this is reflected by their commitment to the Poppy Appeal. I am, as always, very proud to be associated with these young people.
Please support the cause and ask our cadets for a poppy, your donation will make a difference.
