| Sunday 14 th November saw a large contingent of staff and cadets from the Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing on parade to commemorate remembrance Sunday. For the first time this year, a contingent of cadets from 888 (Oldbury) Sqn attended the parade representing the Staffordshire Wing. A total of over 60 cadets from 487, 487 D/F, 493 and 888 Sqn's formed up on Broad Street ready for the march into the City Centre
Thousands of people watched representatives from the Armed Forces, Sea, Army and Air cadets and the emergency services march to the parade area outside the International Convention Centre. The Lord Mayor of Birmingham , Councillor Len Gregory, led the traditional tributes to the fallen from wars in the past and to also remember those serving in the forces today.
The Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing wreath was laid by Cpl Tom Bell from 487 Sqn.
Sqn Ldr Chris Mumford, parade commander commented “This was an excellent turn-out by the Sqn's from our wing and it was also good to see the staff and cadets from 888 Sqn take time to come into Birmingham for the parade. I would like to thank all the staff and cadets for making time to remember all those that have served in HM Forces. All the cadets were extremely smart and their standard of drill was excellent”.
