Filming started at the end of July for a short video on Air Cadet Gliding. The initial filming followed a continuous gliding scholarship course at 637 VGS, Little Rissington.
More work has to be done to complete the video which will include pieces to camera from civil and RAF pilots who started their flying careers with an Air Cadet gliding scholarship course.
Sqn Ldr Bernard Tisley, Wing Gliding Liaison Officer for Warwickshire & Birmingham wing said: “The programme will be released in DVD format and will be available for cadets to take home and show their parents. One of the difficulties is that in the past we have relied on cadets to pass information on the commitment required back to their parents."
"It sometimes comes as a surprise when parents learn they have to transport their child to an out of the way airfield for several weekends at a time in order to complete the course. The video will give them the information they need and illustrate the benefits that a gliding scholarship course can bring.”
The filming is being carried out by the Video Production Group at RAF Halton and once finished it will go to editing and the soundtrack will be added. It is expected that the final copy should be ready around Christmas time. |
