Wing's first Health & Safety “Volunteer Tutors”
receive their Certificates

The Wing launched the “Cadet Entry Level Award in Health & Safety” training during 2010. This Award is available to all Cadets to participate in. The scheme is sponsored by the British Safety Council in conjunction with HQAC. It is an H&S based awareness scheme which Cadets are enrolled onto and on completion of their “project” are awarded an industry recognised Certificate which may help the Cadet when applying for work experience or as part of a recruitment package for applications for employment.

One of the requirements to start the scheme is for each Squadron to have a registered “Volunteer Tutor” to mentor the Cadets through their individual project. Staff from two Squadron's 163 and 2438 attended the pilot training session run by Nichola Foster Regional HQ HS adviser.

Flt Lt's Vile and Raynor 163 Squadron and Mr (CI) Stephen Buxton 2438 Squadron received their certificates recently presented to them by Sqn Ldr R Foster Wing HS&E Officer.

Congratulations to all of them and it is hoped that we will see their Cadets receiving their own certificates in the near future.

Mr (CI) Stephen Buxton, Sqn Ldr R Foster Wing HS&E Officer, Flt Lt’s Vile & Raynor
