Clocks up a staggering 150,000 Hours of Voluntary Work
in the Community

Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore Gordon Moulds presents the Duke of Edinburgh’s, Millennium Volunteers Award 150,000 hour certificate to the Officer Commanding Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing, Wing Commander Pravin LadwaThe efforts of Air Cadets and staff within the Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing of the Air Training Corps who have amassed an incredible 150,000 hours of voluntary work within their local communities under the Millennium Volunteers Award Scheme have been presented with a certificate in formal recognition of their achievement.

The Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore Gordon Moulds MBE RAF presented the Duke of Edinburgh's, Millennium Volunteers Award 150,000 hour certificate to the Officer Commanding Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing, Wing Commander Pravin Ladwa at the Wings annual Ladies' Night Dinner on 10 th March 07.

On presenting the Award Air Commodore Moulds said, “This award reflects the effort and commitment of the young people within the Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing and the support they are given by the wings adult volunteers within their local Squadrons. This award is even more impressive when you consider that this Wing is the only organisation within the within the Millennium Volunteers Award Scheme to have reached the amazing total of 150,000 hours.”

Following the presentation Squadron Leader Bryan Coats the Wings Duke of Edinburgh's and Millennium Volunteers Awards Officer said, “Although the Millennium Volunteers Award Scheme for young people aged 16 ~ 24 is now coming a close, our voluntary efforts within our local communities will continue. At a time when young people in general appear to get so little credit for much of the work that they do, we should all be very proud of the fact that our young people throughout the Warwickshire & Birmingham area have voluntarily given 150,000 hours of time to their communities.”
