The Millennium Volunteers scheme will end on 31 March 2008.

All applications for awards ( 250 or 500) are therefore to be submitted as soon as is possible, and well before the end date, and awards will be granted and expenses paid. The MV offices have requested all awards be with them well before that date, as the will not have staff on the project after the end date.( Please ensure Sqn Ldr Coats gets them at least 10 days before, by 21 March 08 and allow for extra time if posting via WHQ.) Any applications received after 21 March will be returned to units.

The Wing has done well in this scheme and is still the top ATC Wing in the country and 492 Sqn are the top unit in the ATC for this scheme. Over £20,000 has been paid to cadets and units over the 8 years we have been involved.

There may well be a totally different scheme stating after that date, but firm details are not yet available. It is suggested that community projects and initiatives will be supported not the individual, and as such may not be that appealing for units. Sqn Ldr Coats will circulate further details when known.
