Sixty five cadets and staff from Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing attended a 7 day fieldcraft training camp at Sennybridge Training Area near Brecon.
Although training was centred on fieldcraft and navigation exercises, the cadets also had the opportunity to hone their shooting skill on a 100 - 300 meter Gallery Range. Thanks to their coaches for taking the time to zero the weapons and give advice to the firers, a number of marksmanship badges were awarded. The cadets also got to dry handle a variety of foreign weapons thanks to assistance from the RAF Regiment who were also at Sennybridge that week.
Another activity was Clay Target Shooting which was organised by the Wing Shooting officer, Squadron Leader D Martin. He commented; “It was great to see the cadets and staff enjoy this sport and to see them practice their marksmanship against a moving target.” At the end of the camp, the best clay target shot was awarded a ‘Top Gun’ trophy.
