Double Champions

Two teams of young cadets from Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing recently took part in The Central & East Regional Junior Rugby and Junior Netball Festivals at RAF Cranwell. The day turned out to be a very special one for both of our teams.

The Junior Boys Rugby Team won through to the final where they beat a team from Herts & Bucks Wing fairly convincingly by 25 - 0, after scoring 5 tries, to retain The Bailey Cup which they also won last year.

The Junior Girls Netball Competition was played on a league basis and the Girls Team managed to win 4 of their 5 games to finish top of the league to win The Thorney Island Cup. It was only the 2 nd time that we have won The Trophy. The previous occasion being in the year 2000.

As a result of their fine performances, 9 Cadets from The Rugby Team and 3 Cadets from The Netball Team have been selected to attend The Central & east Region Trials at RAF Brampton on Sunday 25 th February 2007.
