On Sunday 25 th Feb.07 12 cadets from Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing traveled to RAF Brampton after being selected to take part in the Central & East Region Junior Rugby and Junior Netball Trials. There were 9 rugby and 3 netball players.

The long journey proved to be very worthwhile because 7 out of the 9 rugby players and all 3 of the netball players were selected to represent the Region at the forthcoming Corps Championships. These will take place at DCAE Cosford on Saturday 17 th March 07.

The cadets selected for the Junior Rugby were as follows:

• Sgt. Dan McCarthy 492 ( Solihull ) Sqn.
• Cpl. Julian New 1289 ( Stratford ) Sqn

The cadets selected for the Junior Netball were as follows:

• Cdt Rebecca Wheeldon 487( North Birmingham ) D/F
• Cdt. Emily Green 496 (Balsall Common) Sqn.
• Cdt Amiee Borton 2286 ( Arden ) Sqn.

Wing Inter-Squadron (11-A-side) Football Competition

The results of the semi-final matches in the above competition which took place on the 24/25 of February 07 were both very close fought games and the results were as follows:

• 165 (Castle Bromwich) Sqn 1 - 1368 (Warwick & Royal Leamington Spa) Sqn. 2
• 8F ( Coventry ) Sqn. 0 - 492 ( Solihull ) Sqn. 2

The Final will therefore be between 1368 Sqn. & 492 Sqn.
