WING INTER-SQUADRON FOOTBALL COMPETITION

The above competition has now reached the Semi - Final stage and the draw for this stage is as follows:

Matches have to be played on or before 11 th Feb.08. and the first named squadrons are responsible for organizing the pitch and the referee and for providing the match ball.. Games should last no more then 35 mins. each way and in the event of a draw extra time of 10 mins. each way should be played. If the match is still drawn after this time then a penalty shoot-out should decide the winner.

CORPS OPEN – AGE NETBALL MATCH

Congratulations to the twins from 163 Sqn. Cpl Ellie Whittle and Cdt. Philly Whittle who were both selected to represent the Air Training Corps in January at Open-Age Netball and afterwards where presented with their Corps Blues.

INTER – WING JUNIOR NETBALL FESTIVAL

Congratulations are also due to our Junior Girls Netball Team who successfully defended the Regional Netball Trophy which they also won last year. The Festival was held on sun. 27 th Jan. at RAF Cranwell and as a result of their fine performances the following girls have bee chosen to attend the Regional Netball Trials which will take place on sun. 24 th Feb. at RAF Brampton;

INTER – WING JUNIOR RUGBY FESTIVAL

While the girls were playing netball the Junior Boys Rugby Team were taking part in the Regional Rugby Festival at the same venue. Unfortunately the boys couldn't manage to retain the trophy which they had won the previous year and had to settle for third place. However seven of the boys did get selected to attend the Regional Rugby Trials at RAF Brampton on 24 th Feb. These are as follows:

CORPS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Due to the bad weather conditions the above event which was scheduled to take place on Sat. 19 th Jan. at RAF Cranwell was postponed. It will now take place on March 29 th and will include a representative match against a team from Lincolnshire . Cdt Enya Tabram from 163 (Coventry Phoenix) Sqn has been selected to take part.
