Cadets from the Warwickshire and Birmingham Wing have once again been giving their fellow cadets from neighbouring wings within the Central & East Region a good run for their money on the sports field. Our cadets have once again done us all proud with the following results:

At the Central & East Regional Rugby Sevens Championships which took place at RAF Cranwell on Sun 8 Oct 06, Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing won the trophy for the 5 th year running. We best South & East Midlands Wing in a close but high scoring final 39 points to 28 points.

Junior Football Championships

At the same venue on the same day we also won the Junior Football Championships when we once again beat South & East Midlands Wing in another closely thought final 1 – 0.

As a result 5 of the Rugby Team and 9 of the Football Team have been selected for trials for the Regional Teams.

Junior Girls Hockey

The Junior Girls Hockey Team also took part in the Regional Championships on the same day at RAF Cranwell but only managed to finish 4 th (but they only had 8 players)

Regional Open-Age Hockey Championships

On Sun 15 Oct 06, the Regional Open-Age Hockey Championships took place at RAF Cranwell and once again we did extremely well winning the trophy for the 2 nd year running. Although neither team managed to score, we beat Herts & Bucks Wing by 6 short corners to 2.

Wing Open-Age Netball

At the same venue, the Wing Open-Age Netball Team finished 3 rd in their competition.
