CVQO / BTEC awards on the Wing.

CVQO / BTEC awards on the Wing The Wing Training & Personnel Officer Squadron Leader Martin Harrison and the Wing Training Team have recently taken over responsibility for the CVQO / BTEC awards on the Wing.

Sqn Ldr Harrison said “Having now taken over this important part of training within the Wing we will be committed to ensuring that as many cadets and younger members of staff as possible take advantage of the opportunities available to them. I think it is excellent that cadets have the chance of gaining the equivalent of six GCSEs whilst undertaking routine Corps activities” We will do all we can to maximise the number of awards gained”

Sqn Ldr Harrison also stated that this year there have been some changes to the BTEC CERTIFICATE IN AVIATION STUDIES. Although the cost has now increased to £35.00 once a cadet has passed their Staff Part 1 examination they now receive the equivalent of two GCSEs.

Cadets who leave the corps before gaining Staff Part 1 but who have passed their Leading exam can pay £30.00 and gain the equivalent of one GCSE.

New application forms will be available soon on the web site and sent to units and applications with cheques (payable to Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing) should be sent to Sqn Ldr Harrison either at his home address or via WHQ.

In addition the Training Team will be running occasional Project Days to assist cadets with the completion of their BTEC First Diploma in Public Services. The first course which will be supported by Capt Falshaw CVQO Regional Manager will be held at WHQ/163 Sqn on Saturday 3 Feb 07 0900h-1600h.
