| Cadets from across Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing attended a Junior NCO Leadership Development course at DCAE Cosford over the weekend on 15-17 Feb 08.
Cadets were given presentations on the role of a JNCO, leadership, leadership styles, communication, presentation skills and were each part of a syndicate that had to prepare and present the results of a discussion document to the remainder of the course and the assessing staff.
Despite the temperatures reaching a low of -7 degrees overnight the cadets also each had an opportunity to take charge of a leadership exercise on the Sunday morning putting everything they had been taught the previous day into practice.
Cadets received an attendance certificate, course photograph and full feedback will be sent to their Squadron Commanders for discussion and development.
Four cadets were awarded the Best In Syndicate and each received an additional certificate and some ‘goodies'. The cadets were Cdt Rhiannan OWEN 8F Squadron, Cpl Danielle BAKER 121 Sqn, Cpl Jade LACEY 198 Sqn and Cdt Richard HULM 8F Sqn, a near clean sweep by the females!
The Wing Training & Personnel Officer Squadron Leader Martin Harrison said “Another successful course with lots of cadets benefiting from the weekends input. It is always good to see individuals progressing throughout the three day period and hopefully taking at least some of their new found skills back to their units with them and to be able to put them into practise for the overall development of younger cadets.” |
