Squadrons and detached flights are the basic operational formations of the Air Training Corps. Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing has twenty six squadrons and one detached flight. Each squadron stands very much on its own feet, ordering its own life within the framework of the Corps under its own officers and staff, helped by its own committee of local citizens.
