Paul Hincks joined the Air Training Corps as a cadet in 1973 at 121 ( Nuneaton ) Squadron. He progressed through the ranks becoming Cadet Warrant Officer in 1978.

In February 1980 he joined the adult staff at 121 Squadron as a Civilian Instructor before going back into uniform as a Warrant Officer a year later. Paul was commissioned into RAFVR (T) in 1985 and has served as both Adjutant and Training Officer.

In his civilian career Paul trained as an Airframe Fitter with Hawker Siddley Aviation Limited, before joining the Rolls-Royce Industrial & Marine drawing office team at Ansty. In January 2001 he joined the Rolls-Royce Customer Service Business as, Principal Multi-Media Technologist. (That's a fancy name for someone who sits around all day and plays with computers and gets paid for it, how good is that.)

Paul took up an interest in Air Cadet Media Communications in 2003 taking on the role of Squadron Media Communications Officer (SMCO). As SMCO his Squadron achieved some notable PR and Media Communications successes including video and website projects at both Wing and Regional level, in fact following the success of his own Squadron's recruiting video Paul was commissioned by the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Midlands Region office to produce a DVD to publicise the success of the Millennium Volunteers.

In 2006 Paul assumed the role of Wing Webmaster and was tasked with producing the Warwickshire & Birmingham Wing website. Flt Lt Hincks was awarded the Commandant Air Cadets Certificate of Meritorious Service in 2007 for his contribution to Air Cadet Media Communications activities within the wing and in 2008 the Wing website,
www.aircadets-wbw.org received the Corps Best Website award.

Paul was appointed as Wing Media Communications Officer (WMCO) in March 2009.

Mission Statement:
To promote a positive image of the Wing, its Squadrons and its activities to the press, governing bodies and the general public.

Objectives:

• Proactively promote Wing media opportunities and events
• Assist Squadron Communication Officers (SMCO) with PR.
• Maintain monthly records of Squadron PR activity as reported by the SMCO
• Report to the Regional MCO on the Wing & Squadrons PR activity
• Act as the first point of contact for Squadrons in the event of an incident likely to involve negative press.
• Manage the Wing PR trailer
• Act as Wing Webmaster
