Sqn Ldr Martin was appointed to Wing Staff in 2002 and is responsible to OC Wing for shooting and weapon training across the Wing. He also manages a Wing Team of qualified Weapon specialists know as Warwickshire & Birmingham Shooting And Fieldcraft Training team (WABSAFT) who support Wing shooting activities and direct support to Squadrons on related matters. Sqn Ldr Martin is also qualified to take cadets Clay Target Shooting and is a member of the Central & East Region Small Arms Training Team.

Mission Statement:
To manage and improve the standards of cadet marksmanship and the level of weapon training across the Wing so that the Wing complies with the shooting policies and standards laid down by HQAC.

Objectives:

• To promote weapon training and fieldcraft for cadets and staff across the Wing through the use of a Wing Shooting Training Team of Qualified Instructors
• Liase with the Regional shooting training team.
• Ensure cadets, Squadron staff and shooting qualified staff adhere to the Corps shooting rules, regulations and safety policies.
• Act a the single point of contact within the Wing on shooting and fieldcraft matters.
• Approve the annual shooting certificates of staff on behalf of OC Wing.
